Dog fact – Dogs on the Titanic

Did any dogs survive the Titanic?

Dogs were actually allowed on the Titanic but only for First Class passengers. 12 dogs were on the ship when it hit the iceberg and of those only 3 survived. The dogs that survived were 2 Pomeranians and a Pekinese that were small enough to be smuggled onto the lifeboats. The Rothschild family owned one of the Pomeranians, and the Pekinese, was brought onto the Titanic by members of the Harper family of the famous N.Y. publishing firm, Harper & Row.
